GOODS Program

The Greater Birmingham Humane Society is a proud ambassador for the Greater Good GOODS Program.

Thanks to the GOODS Program, we are able to bring more low-cost pet food and supplies to the rescues and shelters in the region, allowing animal welfare organizations to stretch their dollars further to assist more pets and people. Food and supplies are donated by the truckload from gracious donors, shipped to our partner warehouse and later distributed to qualified Rescue Bank Recipients for a minimal handling fee.

For your organization to be considered as a recipient of the GOODS Program, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Your organization must be a 501c3 in good standing or a municipal/county shelter

  • You will be required to present your IRS determination letter

  • You must agree to a site visit by a GBHS Staff Member or Volunteer

  • Provide a website including the organization’s mission (Facebook is not sufficient)

  • Your organization must be present on GuideStar

  • If you are a shelter/rescue/sanctuary, you must list adoptable pets online and spay/neuter all animals prior to adoption.

If you have questions before submitting your application, please email GOODS@gbhs.org
